The British Isles Indoor Bowls Council International Series
The British Isles Indoor Bowls Council International Series between England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland is taking place on home ground at Falcon Indoor Bowls Club in Chelmsford, Essex. The series takes place over Thursday, Friday and Saturday of this week and is always a highlight in the bowls calendar.
England opened the Men’s British Isles Series at the Falcon Indoor Bowls Club in Chelmsford, Essex against Ireland. In Greg’s first game as captain of the England team he kept his rink tight and after 21 ends lost 18-19. The overall board was looking healthy for England from early on in the match. Once all 6 rinks had completed their matches England ran out winners by 134 shots to Ireland’s 86. This gives the team a great shots difference to start their title defence. 4 out of the 6 rinks won and the top rink of Shaun Jones, Connor Cinato, Ian Bond and Jamie Walker won by a comfortable 23 shots.
Check back next week for a roundup of all the matches over the series and a review from Greg on what it is like to be England Captain.
Let’s hope that the men can match the success of the ladies, who won their series last week.
